The threat that we won’t have new shows and movies coming out because of the strikes would hit a little harder if 99.9% of everything coming out wasn’t God awful derivative schlock that you watch once and immediately forget.

there’s some truth to this for the most popular titles but yall also know that streaming brought incredible strides in diversity and actually really wonderful shows and TV and the studios FUCKED them with low marketing budgets and cancellations so only the crap floated to the top right?
they used diversity both in front of and behind the camera as a GROWTH HACK to get streaming to where it is today because people who hadnt been served before finally were served, and then the studios all started immediately canceling shows, firing DEI staff, and making marketing budgets and staff so small that the best stuff could never be noticed in the endless stream of Content TM.
it actually doesn’t help the workers to say shit like this because for every crap ass franchise bullshit out there, there is a original, interesting show some writer hauled ASS to get made that barely got any attention bc it was lost in the content mill.

Obsessed with the fact that one of the bigots from Girl Defined is trying to rebrand her social media to sell courses on how to make courses allegedly (for $2k, no less) and is also allegedly “heavily inspiring herself” with other people’s content and she shared this IG story about somebody who made a parody of her account
Which is, by the way, completely fine and allowed by Instagram’s ToS and now she has caused said parody account to get extra attention and notice from others and it went from 14 followers to 600 in less than a day
And she is big mad about it and it even appeared first in the search bar for me, in front of her own account
people who watch musicals and bitch about how it doesn’t make sense that the characters randomly burst into song are so funny to me. babe it’s literally a musical like this is the standard of the genre what did you expect

I work at a rock shop, we have had these boys forever but due to some tik tok trend last week we have been getting people just comming in and rushing for the bands. Not to mention when they are like “man i hope yours does not break” and I tell them they are fragile and you should be careful with them they get angry with me since the only way the can possibly break is by vibes alone and not jusy throwing your hand down on a table too hard.

this was from my freshman year of college, shortly after I came out, when someone sent me to hang out with these two (somehwat) older trans guys to show me that it was gonna be okay
one of them told me about how he got his gender marker changed before it was technically allowed. what he did was he waited until he grew a beard, and then he walked into the dmv and pointed at the f on his liscense and said “there’s been a mistake” and they were like “oh sorry about that sir”
I did this with my government records after voice training. Before training the guy on the phone was like “there’s nothing we can do without a legal change of gender on your birth certificate” which requires a lengthly process and a court hearing to prove.
After voice training called up the same place “Hi there I think there was a mistake when creating my account” and it was all “sorry ma'am we’ll get that fixed right away”.
Gender is entirely constructed and I encourage you to exploit this to get access to cisgender privilege.
